Preparing To Get The Tattoo

Even if you aren’t particularly interesting in learning the ins and outs of the tattoo business, it’s always good to know what’s going on in your surroundings. It’ll be comforting to know what’ll be happening when you actually sit down to get your tattoo. If this is your first tattoo, and the first time you’ve been in a tattoo parlor, you might be in for a pleasant surprise. Or maybe you’ll find that you’re nervous, and that’s perfectly natural too.

They say knowledge is bliss so knowing what is about to come next could help to keep you calm throughout the process.

First and foremost, you may have to choose whether or not you want a private room. Some tattoo studios have them, and they’re most often utilized when the tattoo in question is located in a private area of the body as, for example, below the pantie line, where lots of women elect to have their tattoos placed. Still, if you’re the shy type you might want to take advantage of this private facility just for the heck of it, and having that option available to you certainly doesn’t hurt.

Normally, when you first sit down, the tattoo artist will probably be carrying out some of the basic preparations. By this point in time, the design that you want to use will already be ready, and all the tools of the trade will already be sterilized. Never be shy in asking the tattoo artist or the tattoo studio owner the procedure to maintain sterilized tools.

Most of the basic preparation that needs to be taken care of consists of cleaning the area of where the tattoo is going to be placed with alcohol, and also shaving off any hair that might be there. Even if it isn’t a really hairy area, fine hairs can get in the way of the tattoo needle and get in the way of creating the tattoo design that you’re looking for, and so the area must be shaved clean.

Basically, once this is done, the process is ready to begin and you’re all set to get your tattoo worked on! Now is the moment that you’ve been waiting for – the moment you’ve probably been thinking about for a while — the moment you’ve prepared for for so long — you’re about to get your tattoo!

Make it an enjoyable experience… well, as enjoyable as possible since you will be getting stuck with needles and sometimes there is a bit of bleeding. So come prepared with an iPod full of music or a magazine you haven’t read yet. The process could take long so you might want to have had a light bite of food before you get there. I say “light” as you don’t to get hungry or thirsty but you also don’t want to feel so full you’re uncomfortable (just in case the process bothers your tummy).

You want to be dressed in comfortable clothes. And you want to make sure you’re showered and clean. For one, the tattoo artist will be right up there as close as anyone ever gets to you and for two, because you might have to wait a while before letting your new tattoo get in water. Just some helpful hints to help you prepare for your day on the tattoo table.
