Sitting in the gym sauna one late afternoon after finishing a workout, two gals started up a conversation … and wouldn’t you know, it was about tattoos. One, very proudly, showed off her sprawling, soaring eagle that was tattooed onto her lower back, just above her butt crease. The other was still “thinking about it” determined that this year she’d giver herself that special birthday gift that’s she’s put off for a decade by then: a tattoo. I asked her where she thought she’d place it. Her answer was sort of like she was surprised I hadn’t read her mind. “The ankle,” she said
Tattoos make a statement. They’re a way to express your individuality and it’s sort of like being in a special club. The “I-have-a-tattoo-too” club. Used to be something you connected with wiseguys and bikers. Now it’s fit for anybody: Mom’s, Dad’s, teens (girls & boys), and even senior citizens are venturing into tattoo parlours to fulfill secret dreams from years gone by. All of a sudden, it’s widely accepted.
